What is the A Poetry Archive Series?
Every poet has a beginning. A Poetry Archive Volume 2 continues Frank Prem’s. An earliest record of becoming, voice-finding, and heart-on-page.
In the A Poetry Archive Series, Frank Prem is locating, preparing and storing the primary source documents that have shaped his life as a poet and his development as a writer.
A Poetry Archive – Volume 2
Volume 2 is the second of two collections of work created between 1998–2003. It focuses on Music, Art, and Magic, reveals the emergence of a distinctive poetic voice, and explores the questions that shape every poet’s journey.
Welcome to Frank Prem’s A Poetry Archive Series.
Look Inside A Poetry Archive Volume 2
there’s a TV against a wall
a sound box perching up on top
when I look around I see
the dregs of recent days
curling up in each stray corner
my table is invisible beneath paper
and the futon wears those clothes of mine
that are waiting for an ironing
when the cleaner comes
on Friday in a week or so
sometimes at night
I make the music cry out loud
so I can dance alone
in the spaces left upon the carpet beige
under a faded light from the weak-watt globes
that hardly shine enough
to show me where my feet should go
so I don’t stumble or maybe fall
