Description
Herja, Devastation – a new valkyrie myth
Herja, Devastation is a unique tale of new Norse myth and mortality. The story of a Valkyrie acting acting to fulfill vengeance, and her mortal companion and and agent. Her earthly assassin.
A story told from the assassin’s perspective as he strives to understand himself and his place in relation to her – Herja, Devastation. Is he just an agent? In service to a higher agency? Is he her lover? How did they come to be?
He is her tool and her assassin. She is his destiny and dignity.
In the dirty business of death on demand, a purity of purpose lights the path as he seeks questions, provides answers and justice on her word.
A unique fusion of forms
In Herja, Devastation free-verse poetry combines with short prose to tell a unique tale of new Norse myth and mortality in the style of an Eddic tale modernised.
Two authors combining to tell a brand new story of love and vengeance. Nemesis on a motorbike.
This blending of literary forms creates a unique nouveau noir style for the 21st Century.
Do you dare to tread the dark side?
POW! for the job
you have to
know
your guy
when he wakes
what he does
when he leaves home
in the morning
when he’s going
to get back
even
when he uses the crapper
you have to know
the guy
who
is his wife
or his girl
or his guy
who does he go
to the football game
with
when does the light
get turned off
at night
it’s like
you almost have to be
him
I know I know
it sounds all
pseudo-freud
pop-gun psychology
I know
but
I ask you
how can you bump him
if you don’t
know him
POW!
you have to
know him
that’s the job
