Who Was Joseph Campbell — and Why Interpret Him Through Poetry?

Joseph Campbell (1904–1987) was an American writer, lecturer, and mythologist whose work reshaped how we understand stories and the patterns behind them. He also popularised the phrase “Follow your bliss,” encouraging people to pursue the path that feels aligned with their inner life.
